Plan Features

Short-Term Disability provides income replacement if you are unable to work due to Accident, Injury, Illness, or Maternity.

Benefit Amount: 60% of Weekly Earnings up to Weekly Maximum of $1,300. Premium is paid with Post-Tax Dollars so the Benefit is tax free.

Benefits Begin on the 31st day you are out of work due to Accident, Injury, or Sickness and will pay for 22 weeks. Maternity is covered for 6 weeks and 8 weeks if C-Section.

Guarantee Issue Coverage

Pre-Existing Condition: You may not be eligible for benefits if you have received treatment for a condition within 3 months prior to your effective date under this policy until you have been covered under the policy for 6 months.

Plan Options

SGMC offers a BUY-UP STD Plan. This plan allows for a waiting period of 15 days with a benefit amount of 60% of Weekly Earnings up to a weekly maximum of $1,300.

What is Long Term Disability?

Long Term Disability (LTD) provides income replacement if you are unable to work due to Accident, Injury, Illness and covers you until age 69 or Social Security Normal Retirement Age. Refer to the LTD policy for more information.

Plan Options

SGMC offers a CORE LTD plan and a BUY-UP LTD Plan. SGMC covers the cost of the CORE Plan while giving employees the option to purchase the BUY-UP LTD Plan.
