Consolidated Financial Statements
The Hospital Authority of Valdosta and Lowndes County, Georgia, (“Authority”) currently owns and operates (1) the South Georgia Medical Center, a 330 licensed-bed acute care general hospital facility located in the City of Valdosta, Lowndes County, Georgia, including the South Georgia Medical Center Smith Northview, a healthcare facility located in the City of Valdosta, Lowndes County, Georgia; (2) the South Georgia Medical Center – Berrien Hospital (known as SGMC- Berrien Campus), a 51 licensed-bed general hospital facility and a 12 licensed geri-psychiatric bed unit located in the City of Nashville, Berrien County, Georgia; and (3) the South Georgia Medical Center – Lanier Hospital (known as SGMC- Lanier Campus), a 25 licensed-bed critical access hospital facility providing acute and sub-acute care and a 62-bed skilled nursing facility, both located in the City of Lakeland, Lanier County, Georgia and other services and facilities.
The Consolidated Financial Statements encompass all Authority hospitals. SGMC, located in Valdosta, Georgia, is an acute care hospital that provides inpatient, outpatient and emergency care services. Smith Northview Campus, also located in Valdosta, Georgia, operates under the same tax identification and provider numbers as SGMC and is considered to be an extension of SGMC.
Berrien provides inpatient, outpatient and emergency care services for residents of Berrien County, Georgia.
Lanier provides inpatient, outpatient, emergency and skilled nursing care for residents of Lanier County, Georgia.

The Hospital Authority of Valdosta and Lowndes County, Georgia (“Hospital Authority”) is a corporate politic organized under the laws of the State of Georgia and as a corporate politic operates three separately licensed hospital facilities. However, the facilities are not separate corporate entities and are divisions with the Hospital Authority.

SGMC has dedicated significant resources to analyze the thousands of different services and items that it provides including all costs, charges and payer negotiated rates. SGMC is creating an easily readable listing of the items and services that we provide to include the charges, the pricing based upon negotiated payer agreements and the minimum and maximum amounts of SGMC’s reimbursement from third party payers. We are also including the price that you may pay if you do not have insurance and are considered a self-pay patient. Included on our website is the initial listing of services, a display of shoppable services, a consumer pricing tool and additional information regarding payer rates. This extensive process of reviewing all of this information is a continuous process and SGMC will update this information as additional information and descriptions are identified and validated.
In addition to this information, SGMC is dedicated to maintaining financial assistance programs to assist qualified individuals to ensure each patient has access to medically necessary healthcare services regardless of their ability to pay.
