Consolidated Financial Statements

The Hospital Authority of Valdosta and Lowndes County, Georgia, (“Authority”) currently owns and operates (1) the SGMC Health Main, a 330 licensed-bed acute care general hospital facility located in the City of Valdosta, Lowndes County, Georgia, including the SGMC Health Smith Northview, a healthcare facility located in the City of Valdosta, Lowndes County, Georgia; (2) the SGMC Health – Berrien Hospital (known as SGMC Health – Berrien Campus), a 51 licensed-bed general hospital facility and a 12 licensed geri-psychiatric bed unit located in the City of Nashville, Berrien County, Georgia; and (3) the SGMC Health – Lanier Hospital (known as SGMC Health – Lanier), a 25 licensed-bed critical access hospital facility providing acute and sub-acute care and a 62-bed skilled nursing facility, both located in the City of Lakeland, Lanier County, Georgia and other services and facilities.

The Consolidated Financial Statements encompass all Authority hospitals.  SGMC Health, located in Valdosta, Georgia, is an acute care hospital that provides inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care services. Smith Northview Campus, also located in Valdosta, Georgia, operates under the same tax identification and provider numbers as SGMC Health and is considered to be an extension of SGMC Health.

Berrien provides inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care services for residents of Berrien County, Georgia.

Lanier provides inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and skilled nursing care for residents of Lanier County, Georgia.

The Hospital Authority of Valdosta and Lowndes County, Georgia d/b/a South Georgia Medical Center and its related license hospitals, Berrien Hospital and Lanier Hospital (collectively “SGMC”) do not file 990 forms with the Internal Revenue Services because of its corporate politic entity form. In good faith and using best efforts to disclose the applicable information, SGMC hereby provides links to the Balance Sheets for each hospital.

The Real Property listing represents the Real Property owned by the Hospital Authority of Valdosta and Lowndes County, Georgia on behalf of all three of the licensed Hospitals. The respective Real Property that is related to Berrien Hospital is identified as located in Berrien County. The Real Property related to Lanier Hospital is identified as located in Lanier County. The respective Real Property that is related to South Georgia Medical Center is identified as located in Lowndes County.

The Financial Statements identified in the information on this website identify the Bond indebtedness issued in prior years from 2007 through 2011 that was refunded and refinanced through the 2019A and 2019B series Bond issuance dated August 28, 2019 in the total amount of $139,475,000.

Chart of Corporate Structure

The Hospital Authority of Valdosta and Lowndes County, Georgia (“Hospital Authority”) is a corporate politic organized under the laws of the State of Georgia and as a corporate politic operates three separately licensed hospital facilities. However, the facilities are not separate corporate entities and are divisions with the Hospital Authority.
