Dr. Varn, a board-certified internal medicine physician, is a part of the teaching faculty for SGMC Health’s Graduate Medical Education Internal Medicine Residency program.
Dr. Varn is deeply connected to the Valdosta community, having been born at SGMC Health and raised in the area. Since 2021, he has provided both outpatient and inpatient medical care locally, demonstrating his strong commitment to serving his hometown. His lifelong ties and dedication to the region make him a valuable asset to SGMC Health and its patients.
Dr. Varn earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Valdosta State University and his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Mercer University Internal Medicine program at Navicent Health in Macon, where he served with distinction as Chief Resident. Mercer’s strong commitment to advancing rural healthcare and serving underserved populations has greatly influenced Dr. Varn’s approach to medicine.

Dr. Varn is married to Dr. Jessica Varn, a local dentist, and they have four beautiful daughters. Outside of work, Dr. Varn enjoys fly fishing, programming, and spending quality time with his family and friends.
