Dr. Ledford was born and raised in the small town of Cleveland, located in northeast Georgia, best known as the birthplace of the Cabbage Patch Kids. Her journey in healthcare began as a registered nurse and later as a nurse practitioner, experiences that solidified her passion for internal medicine across both inpatient and outpatient settings. Driven by a deep curiosity and a desire to broaden her medical knowledge, she made the decision to return to school to pursue a medical degree.
She takes great pride in providing comprehensive care for a wide range of medical conditions, with a particular interest in complex disease processes. Dr. Ledford values building strong relationships with her patients, celebrating their milestones, and offering comfort during more challenging times. For her, being part of their healthcare journey is a profound privilege.
The Internal Medicine Residency Program at SGMC Health has played a vital role in her development as a well-rounded physician. The variety of pathologies encountered at SGMC Health, combined with an exceptional support system, including hospital administration, attendings, specialists, fellow residents, and GME leadership, has created an ideal environment for professional growth.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Ledford is focused on improving her golf game, enjoys fishing, and cherishes quality time with her husband, Jeremy, and their two dogs, Blanton and Larson. She also has a passion for aviation and plans to complete her private pilot training after residency.
