SGMC’s Mindy Bates Recognized as G.R.E.A.T. Ambassador

Mindy Bates Mindy Bates has been named as South Georgia Medical Center’s G.R.E.A.T. Ambassador. Created by the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA), this designation celebrates and showcases the commitment and caring that hospital employees bring to their job, community and to the Georgia healthcare industry. The G.R.E.A.T. Ambassador Program, which stands for Giving Recognition for Excellence, Advocacy and Teamwork, provides hospital employees the opportunity to tell their personal stories about how they chose a healthcare profession, why they like their job and what they like about working for their hospital.Mindy works as the Benefits and Wellness Coordinator at SGMC. Her responsibilities include benefits eligibility and enrollment for employees, benefits communication and event planning and vendor coordination for employee benefits and discounts. She also serves as the Well Workplace Chairperson.Each hospital employee was invited to submit a story to their human resources department. The essays were personal stories explaining what being a healthcare employee has meant to them. The human resources department chose a G.R.E.A.T. Ambassador to represent the hospital and submitted the essay to GHA. All ambassadors receive a recognition certificate and pin from GHA and are recognized for their contributions at the state and local levels by the Georgia Hospital Association.
