SGMC Updates Logo: New Brand Campaign Reflects System Growth
8/25/2014The Hospital Authority of Valdosta and Lowndes County, GA has endorsed a system-wide refresh to the SGMC brand to improve brand identity in the communities served by South Georgia Medical Center, its campuses and affiliates. The South Georgia Medical Center family includes four hospitals: the SGMC Main Campus; the SGMC Berrien Campus; the SGMC Smith Northview Campus and the SGMC Lanier Campus. SGMC also operates more than a dozen specialty clinics including the Diabetes Management Center, the Spine Care Center, the Occupational and Industrial Medicine Center, and the Wound Healing Center, to name a few. At this time, services are not changing in any of our locations, just the logos.SGMC’s new look and tag line, “Growing Healthy Together,” is a culmination of two years of research, the acquisition of three hospitals and significant growth and development in service lines. The new branding campaign will be communicated through many mediums including billboards, television and social media.”The SGMC brand stands for improving the health, wellness and quality of life in our communities,” said SGMC CEO Randy Sauls. “It is our evolution from one hospital into a four hospital system serving approximately 15 counties that is driving the need for an updated look. The new brand reflects the clinical continuity of care and general medical excellence that makes SGMC’s the region’s premier health system and destination for health care.”Sauls explained that market research illustrates that the new tagline reflects the diverse needs of various populations, the importance of local healthcare access in adjacent communities and the overall progressiveness of the health system.“Growing Healthy Together will mean different things to different people,” Sauls said. “For example, some will interpret the tagline to mean, ‘I need to be healthier.’” To others it may mean, ‘SGMC will take care of me when I’m sick.’ Others may equate the tagline to mean that SGMC is growing with new campuses, new doctors and new technology. Internally, the message empowers our employees to grow professionally to provide the best care for patients.”For the past 12 years, the SGMC logo has included lettering, a graphic swoosh and green cross representing the 2002 footprint of the hospital. The new logo retains what is familiar yet modernizes and unifies the system’s facilities under a system-wide umbrella. Visit SGMCValdosta on Facebook to view the new campaign.
