Posted on: October 12th, 2023

South Georgia Medical Center has earned the 2023 College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) Digital Health Most Wired recognition. The program conducts an annual survey to assess how effectively healthcare organizations apply core and advanced technologies into their clinical and business programs to improve health and care in their communities.

Among the more than 55,000 facilities represented, SGMC ranked above peers in categories like analytics and data management, population health, infrastructure, and patient engagement. For 2023, SGMC received a certified level 8 in the acute category and level 9 in the ambulatory category. The survey assessed the adoption, integration, and impact of technologies in healthcare organizations at all stages of development, from early development to industry-leading.

According to Vice President and Chief Information Officer Chuck Marshburn, “Healthcare information services continue to evolve as the industry faces growing cybersecurity threats and changes in care models. I am extremely proud of our team who embraces emerging technology and takes pride in ensuring the health and security of our systems.”

CHIME is an executive organization dedicated to serving senior healthcare IT leaders with a highly interactive, trusted environment to collaborate, exchange best practices, address professional development needs, and advocate the effective use of information management to improve the health and care in the communities they serve.
