SGMC Health honored Paris Livingston, Sleep Technician, as the March Health System Hero at the monthly Board of Trustees meeting. Livingston was recognized for her detailed observation and quick thinking with a patient experiencing a medical emergency.

Livingston has worked at the Sleep Lab at SGMC Health Smith Northview for nearly two years. According to the nomination, she was assisting a patient with a sleep study when they suddenly became unresponsive. Livingston quickly called for the rapid response team and monitored the patient until emergency assistance arrived.

“Thanks to Paris’ skill and attentiveness, the patient received the prompt care they needed during an unexpected situation,” shared Johnny Ball, Senior Vice President of Regional Hospital Operations. “The Sleep Lab is better because of compassionate and dedicated employees like Paris.”

Livingston received a standing ovation from those in attendance.
