SGMC Health recognized Jessica White, patient care technician on 4 South, as the June recipient of the Being Extraordinary Everyday (BEE) Award, which honors non-nursing staff who demonstrate exceptional compassion, collaboration, and dedication to patient care.
White is a valued member of the SGMC Health team, known for her attentiveness, kindness, and unwavering commitment to those she serves. Her work consistently reflects a deep sense of empathy and professionalism, even in the most demanding moments.
White was nominated by a patient who experienced firsthand the profound impact of her care. According to the nomination, White created a sense of comfort and reassurance from the very beginning of the patient’s stay, responding promptly to every need while consistently upholding dignity and respect. Even during the busiest moments, her attentiveness never wavered, ensuring the patient always felt seen, valued, and supported—an approach that left a lasting impression.
The patient also highlighted White’s ability to provide meaningful emotional support in addition to exceptional physical care. Her positive attitude and calming presence helped ease anxiety and made an otherwise challenging experience more manageable.
The patient shared, “From the very beginning of my hospital stay, she showed genuine compassion, patience, and attentiveness. She made sure I was comfortable, responded quickly whenever I needed assistance, and treated me with dignity and respect at all times. Even during busy moments, she never made me feel like a burden. Jessica truly represents what it means to provide exceptional patient care, and I am incredibly grateful for the care I received.”
