SGMC Health Foundation Earns Gold Transparency Seal

Posted on: March 29th, 2024

The SGMC Health Foundation was recently awarded the Gold Seal of Transparency on GuideStar by Candid, ranking it among the nation’s best non-profits for openness and accountability in its operations.

The Gold Seal recognizes non-profit organizations that demonstrate a high level of transparency by providing detailed information about their organization, mission, programs, and financials. This recognition helps donors and stakeholders make informed decisions about supporting nonprofit organizations.

As the philanthropic partner for the success of SGMC Health, the SGMC Health Foundation plays a vital role in supporting the health system’s mission to improve the lives of all it serves. Through strategic partnerships and innovative fundraising initiatives, the Foundation raises, manages, invests, and expends gifts and resources to enhance and expand life-saving programs and services throughout the health system.

“We are honored to be acknowledged for our adherence to industry best practices in non-profit transparency,” shared Hilary Gibbs, Vice President and Chief Development Officer. “There is nothing more important to us than being good stewards of the generous donations we receive as we work to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve.”

Candid’s GuideStar rankings are the world’s largest source of information on non-profit organizations. Its mission is to revolutionize philanthropy by providing information that advances transparency, encourages charitable giving, and enables users to make informed decisions. Candid was formed in 2019 when GuideStar and Foundation Center merged.
