Pulmonary Services Receives Quality Respiratory Care Award

South Georgia Medical Center has been recognized by the American Association for Respiratory Care as a Quality Respiratory Care hospital. Of the 5,000 hospitals in the United States, this achievement is awarded to nearly 700 hospitals that have respiratory care departments that meet a strict set of guidelines pertaining to patient safety and overall quality of respiratory care. SGMC’s affiliated pulmonologists Dr. Greg Beale and Dr. Milledge Newton, Pulmonary Services Director Rick Griffis and the departmental staff are responsible for SGMC receiving this distinguished honor. The Pulmonary Services Department consists of 32 full-time respiratory therapists and 15 part-time respiratory therapists who use medical technology and scientific principles to identify, treat and prevent acute or chronic dysfunction of the cardiopulmonary system.  Congratulations to SGMC and the Pulmonary Services Department!
