Dr. Rehan Dawood is a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with advanced fellowship training in Sports Medicine. He specializes in treating musculoskeletal conditions related to exercise and activity, helping patients of all ages and athletic levels return to the activities they love—whether that’s competitive sports, recreational fitness, or simply moving without pain.
Dr. Dawood offers both non-operative care and minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery for injuries involving the shoulder, knee, and other joints. His favorite procedures include ACL reconstructions and shoulder stabilizations, which allow him to help athletes safely return to competition.
With a patient-centered approach, Dr. Dawood emphasizes empathy and active listening to understand each individual’s lifestyle and goals. He takes pride in building trust and delivering personalized care from diagnosis through recovery. His mission is to align with his patients’ aspirations and guide them back to the life they enjoy.
Dr. Dawood’s journey into medicine began while working as an Emergency Room technician during college, where he discovered his passion for helping others. After earning his medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia, he commissioned into the U.S. Navy and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. He served in forward-deployed assignments in Yokosuka, Japan and Sigonella, Italy, providing care to active duty service members and covering the U.S. Navy’s 6th and 7th Operational Fleets.
Following his military service, Dr. Dawood completed a prestigious Sports Medicine fellowship in Washington, D.C., where he provided professional athletic coverage for the Washington Nationals (MLB), DC United (MLS), Washington Spirit (NWSL), and DC Defenders (UFL Champions).
He is an active fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of both the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
Dr. Dawood and his wife Kathleen, a cardiology nurse practitioner, recently welcomed their son Elias. They are excited to call South Georgia home and look forward to the warm weather, strong sense of community, and opportunities to serve the region. Outside of work, Dr. Dawood enjoys hunting, golfing, triathlons, and traveling the world with his family.
