Janna W. Luke. M.Ed. is the new director of the Pearlman Comprehensive Cancer Center at South Georgia Medical Center.

Luke has worked in the cancer center for the past 11 years as the Information and Applications Specialist. She was responsible for the successful implementation of the electronic health record application for thousands of current and former patients.

Luke has served in an interim director’s role in the Cancer Center for the past four months.  According to Mickey Whatley, assistant administrator for operations, Luke is well suited to her role.

“Janna’s experiences in cancer care, as well as her previous supervisory positions in Engineering and Environment of Care give her the background needed to run a diverse department with five physicians and over 80 employees,” Whatley explained.

As director, Luke is responsible for the overall administrative responsibilities of cancer services to include staffing and budgets.

Luke graduated from Valdosta State University with a BFA in Speech Communications and a Masters of Education degree.  She is a native of Berrien County.

Janna and her husband, Don, have two sons, Jackson and Nathan.  In her spare time, Janna gives time to various organizations including the Valdosta City Schools Foundation, the Valdosta Junior Service League, where she is a past president, and Leadership Lowndes, where she is a past member of its Board of Trustees.
