Important Notice for SGMC Account Holders
New Process Revamps BillingBeginning June 1, 2015, South Georgia Medical Center (SGMC) will implement a new Revenue Cycle Management process. SGMC will begin sending individual statements per service encounter to all patients, including minors. Statements will show services rendered including lab, radiology, clinic, inpatient, and other charges. Statements will no longer be sent to the guarantor on the accounts. Statements from affiliated physicians and others will be billed separately. Under this new process, patients will get a separate bill for each service encounter. To finance the balances, patients should visit Patient Financial Services (PFS), located at 402 Woodrow Wilson Drive, and set up payment plans for their accounts. Each account will have a separate payment plan.SGMC understands that some patients may have difficulty meeting their financial obligation. PFS will continue to work with patients and families to resolve balances or set up payment plans.
