Bel Canto 2012 – April 22, 2012

Posted on: March 23rd, 2012

If you missed Bel Canto the past three years, you missed a treat. Bel Canto (Beautiful Singing) is a concert by internationally known singers performing popular arias. Many who attended the last three years have told us that they have a new appreciation of opera because of the quality of the performers and the selection and explanation of the arias sung. We have an outstanding group of performers scheduled for the 4th Annual Bel Canto concert.  Anita Johnson (www.anitadiva.com) will be our soprano and comes highly recommended. She recently performed at the White House for President and Mrs. Obama, in the ceremony honoring Stevie Wonder. Joining Ms. Johnson will be Guido LeBrón, (www.guidoLeBrón.com) a highly sought after and internationally acclaimed baritone.  Their accompanist will be the talented pianist in the first two Bel Canto recitals, Stephen Dubberly. A very special addition this year will be the Sine Nomine Singers, directed by David Lee Johnson, performing Te Deum from Puccini’s Tosca with Guido LeBrón, baritone. The 4th Annual Bel Canto concert will be held at Park Avenue United Methodist Church at 4 PM on Sunday, April 22, 2012 with dinner following at the Valdosta Country Club.We invite you to participate and help make  this venture another success for the benefit of South Georgia Medical Center Foundation. All proceeds will be directed to the Pearlman Cancer Center and the Dasher Heart Center.  Patron $1,000 contribution                        4 Tickets for performance and dinner                        Dinner with artists on Saturday night                        Reserved seats at the performanceBenefactor $500 contribution                        2 tickets for performance and dinner                        Reserved seats at the performanceSupporter $100 contribution                        1 ticket for performance and dinnerAttendee $25                        1 ticket for performanceSpace is limited so please call  229.333.1071 for ticket information, email elizabeth.vickers@sgmc.org
