SGMC welcomes Irene Sheppard, MSN, RN, CEN as the new administrative director of Emergency Services and Monitor Bank. At SGMC, Sheppard will be responsible for day-to-day activities in the emergency department including patient throughput, quality, safety management, compliance and process improvement. She oversees a clinical staff of approximately 100 full time employee. Sheppard is tasked with developing processes to improve employee satisfaction and promote clinical excellence.Sheppard moved to Valdosta from Longview, Washington where she previously served at Manager of the Level III emergency department at Peacehealth St. John Medical Center. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Washington State University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Loyola University, New Orleans, LA. She holds numerous certifications and professional and academic affiliations.
