South Georgia Medical Center’s Women and Children Department is now offering Infant CPR classes in Health Departments in Berrien, Brooks, Cook, Echols, Lanier, and Lowndes counties. Classes will be offered every other month for expecting parents or parents with children less than a year old. Parents will be taught basic CPR techniques, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) risk reduction techniques, and infant safety concerns.

According to Registered Nurse and Class Instructor, Christie Corbin, “Transportation for some parents may be difficult to obtain and this gives them the ability to come to a class that is much closer to home.” SGMC will continue to offer other parenting classes, such as Prepared Childbirth, Breastfeeding, Post Partum, So Mom’s Having a Baby, and Tender Loving Care at SGMC.

Please contact your local health department to register for classes. Berrien Brooks. Cook Echols. Lanie Lowndes, The Birthplace Parenting Classes.
