Dr. Stapleton joined the SGMC Medical Staff in 2016. He fulfilled a distinguished military career working his way up from an Army Medical Corp Hematologist/Oncologist to the Deputy Commander for Clinical Services for the Southeast Regional Command. He concluded his Federal Service by serving as the Chief Medical Officer of the VA Southeast Network and then the Chief of Hematology/Oncology at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center. Dr. Stapleton enjoys the outdoors, including fishing and taking long walks with his wife. He credits his parents for having the greatest influence on his life. Of his two greatest loves, his wife and his work, he says he enjoys the balance between the two.
