South Georgia Medical Center is a 418 licensed bed medical system comprised of a main campus and three satellite campuses; SGMC Berrien Campus, SGMC Lanier Campus, and SGMC Outpatient Plaza. We serve 350,000 residents in a 15-county medical service area covering South Georgia and North Florida. We offer robotic-assisted surgeries, a renowned open heart surgery program, thriving comprehensive cancer care, a satellite clinic of the Joseph M. Recently, our Code Stroke Program won several awards including the Gold Plus Award from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. The program has been awarded the Certificate of Distinction for Advanced Certification as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission.
The Pearlman Comprehensive Cancer Center is a regional facility for cancer care. Recognized by the Women's Choice Award for America's best in cancer care in 2014 and 2015, SGMC's medical and radiation oncologists work closely with pathologists, surgeons and other health professionals to ensure the best outcomes possible.
For over a decade SGMC's Dasher Memorial Heart Center has grown from humble beginnings to a program with regional recognition. From cardiac and endovascular emergencies to diseases that progress over a lifetime, SGMC provides a continuum of cardiac care. With a team of five highly-skilled cardiologists, two cardio-thoracic surgeons and a vascular and endovascular surgeon, a number of complex procedures are being performed right here in South Georgia to meet patient's cardiac needs.
The Birthplace has welcomed babies for the past 25 years, with an average of 2,000 deliveries each year. Our staff recognizes that each family and birth is unique, and strives to provide a safe and nurturing birth experience for each family based on their individual needs.
