Digital Mammography

One of the most recent advances in mammography radiology now offered at SGMC is digital mammography. Digital mammography is basically the same as conventional mammography, but the system is equipped with digital receptor and computer instead of a film.  The use of digital mammography allows the image to be stored and viewed by radiologists on a computer. They can enhance the brightness, contrast and magnification after the exam is complete to assist in reading the mammogram more clearly when needed.

Patients needing a digital mammography will have their exam done in our state of the art Women's Imaging Center.  Our sophisticated technology provides shorter exam times, clearer images and faster results.
