pH Study and Manometry

Esophageal Manometry testing is a procedure used to identify the function of the muscles in the esophageal tract.  This  is a nursing procedure and the patient is not sedated.  It takes approximately 1 hour, including pre-procedure preparation.  If pH testing is ordered, it will be performed after the Esophageal Manometry testing, and is also a nursing procedure.

You will need to get the instructions from the ordering physician’s office.
