Life with Diabetes

This meeting occurs on the third Monday of every month in the Diabetes Management Center located inside SGMC's Diabetes Management Center, 3018 North Patterson Street (Loch Winn Office Park) at 6:00 p.m. Participation is free of charge and open to anyone with diabetes and their caregivers.

Holding Hands

South Georgia Medical Center will host Holding Hands, a local general cancer support group, beginning at 2pm on the third Monday of each month at the Pearlman Comprehensive Cancer Center.  Topics vary each month.  Participation is free of charge and open to all cancer patients and their families.  For additional information, call Lisa Spells at 229.259.4638.

Look Good, Feel Better

Held quarterly, this program for cancer patients is made possible through the American Cancer Society and the Cosmetology Association to teach make-up techniques enabling cancer patients to look and feel their best. Instruction is provided by a licensed, trained cosmetologist through the ACS. To register, call 229.259.4638.

Mended Hearts

A bi-monthly support group open to anyone interested in heart disease, heart disease patients and their families, or one who supports another with heart disease.  For more information, call 229.245.6211.

SGMC Best Buddies – Breast Cancer Support Group

This is a one-hour session to give women a better understanding of breast cancer and the side effects of treatment. Breast cancer patients, family members and friends are invited to attend. It is held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Pearlman Cancer Center conference room. To register or for more information, call 229.259.4638.

Stroke and Head Injury Support Group

This support group meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Pearlman Cancer Center conference room. It is offered for stroke and head injury patients, family and friends. To register or for more information call 229.259.4292.

Together We CAN!

This support group meets the first Monday of each month at 10:00am in the Cancer Center conference room.  It is offered to anyone who has had a cancer diagnosis, their family and/or their caregiver. Please call 229.259.4624 for more information.
