South Georgia Medical Center offers a variety of special services to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. These include the following services:

Patient/Family Education
Staff will provide you and your family with information regarding diagnosis, treatment and other health problems.

Patient’s Condition
Information about diagnosis and treatment of the patient is available from the physician. Condition reports are available by calling the Information Desk at 333-1111.

CaringBridge
During your stay and beyond, you might find it convenient to communicate to your family and friends on CaringBridge. CaringBridge provides free, private websites that connect family and friends during a serious health event, care and recovery. Creating and updating a CaringBridge website is easy – you can add health updates and photos to share your story. You can also receive messages of support in the guestbook. Go to www.CaringBridge.org, Click on "Create a CaringBridge site" and follow the easy instructions and tell your family and friends about your CaringBridge site.

Waiting Areas
Waiting areas are available for visitors on most floors and in the main lobby. Specific waiting areas have been designated for families of patients in the Critical Care Units and the Emergency Department and Labor and Delivery.

Gift Shop
The Gift Shop, staffed by volunteers, is open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The shop has gift items, jewelry, magazines, greeting cards, candy, toiletries, flowers, and plants. Interpreters
The hospital has access to interpreters for a number of foreign languages, if a patient should require it. For more information call the Patient Representative at 259-4414 or 259-4415.

Cafeteria
The cafeteria at South Georgia Medical Center is open daily from 11:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. for visitors.

All Spice Cafe
The All Spice Cafe offers a variety of grill items, pizza and deli sandwiches.  It is open daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM for Breakfast and 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM for grill and deli sandwiches.  Pizza and Basil Area is offered Monday – Friday only.

Vending Machines
Vending machines for snacks and beverages are located on the first floor. They are available 24-hours a day.

Hotel Discounts
Since there are many out-of-town visitors with loved ones at SGMC, local hotels are offering special rates to help accommodate those situations.  View the current discount guide.

Wireless Internet Service
South Georgia Medical Center provides wireless Internet accessibility throughout the facility.  The wireless service is free of charge.
