Spiritual and Pastoral Care

We are committed to honoring the spirituality of our patients. During an illness, the distress which often accompanies the illness should not be overlooked.

One of the ways we help to alleviate suffering is by providing spiritual support. Our goal is to provide pastoral care which is meaningful and therapeutic. We utilize board certified chaplains, a diverse set of pastoral leaders, as well as ministers from throughout our community.

A patient may request chaplain services at any time to anyone on the treatment team. Spiritual care support is offered 24/7 as an expression of quality patient care. Good healthcare must look beyond the needs of the body and should include attention to the soul and the spirit. Our spiritual care team is eager to come alongside anyone in their time of need. We stand ready to listen to you and accompany you during your hospital stay. Pastoral care is provided in all inpatient units, as well as in the Emergency Room and the Cancer Center. This support extends to all SGMC campuses. Chaplain Services office: (229) 433-4510
