The South Georgia Medical Center Foundation was incorporated in 1978 to promote health care in the region by soliciting private funding to benefit South Georgia Medical Center. Gifts to the SGMC Foundation allow the Medical Center to obtain state-of-the-art, life-saving equipment, to improve and expand its facilities, and to increase the quality of vital care-giving services. The Foundation is governed by a 21 member volunteer Board of Trustees comprised of leaders in local business and the community. The Board of Trustees, along with other volunteers who have committed to advancing the Foundation’s mission, raise money for the foundation and oversee the collection and disbursement of Foundation funds. As our community grows, so does the need for advanced, quality health care. The Foundation exists to help the Medical Center meet that need.
