The South Georgia Medical Center Foundation was incorporated by the State of Georgia on January 13, 1978 for the purpose of providing support to or for the benefit of South Georgia Medical Center. The foresight of our founding members, Mr. Harley Langdale, Jr., Mr. James Beck and Mr. Ed G. Barham allows the SGMC Foundation to continue seeking charitable support which will ensure lasting quality health care.
Since its inception, the Foundation has raised more than $8.5 million for various hospital improvements and capital campaigns and has more than $5 million in assets.
The Foundation continues to serve and support the proliferation of quality health care for the residents of our community through capital campaigns and other fundraising venues.
Through the committees of the Foundation, we endeavor to:
Provide a means for increased participation, understanding and communication between the community and South Georgia Medical Center.
Plan, implement and support health-related service programs that will benefit the community.
Provide the means to generate needed donations to maintain, enhance and expand the healthcare services provided by South Georgia Medical Center.
