To raise awareness of the most common of all cancers—skin, SGMC is offering free skin cancer screenings throughout April and May.
April is Oral Cancer Awareness month, South Georgia Medical Center and area dentists will be offering a free oral cancer screening on Thursday, April 16, from 5:30 until 7:00 pm at the SGMC Pearlman Cancer Center.
South Georgia Medical Center will offer a free Cervical Cancer Screening and Pap test on Jan. 15 from 5pm to 6:30 pm.
The Stone Creek Ladies Golf Association recently presented a $5,500 check to the South Georgia Medical Center Foundation which benefits SGMC’s Pearlman Cancer Center.
South Georgia Medical Center and its Lanier and Berrien campuses are joining forces with South Health District and the American Cancer Society to encourage people to quit smoking, dipping, or chewing tobacco products during the annual Great American Smokeout.
