Pediatric Cardiology Clinic
SGMC works with the South Health District and the Georgia Health Sciences University (formerly the Medical College of GA) to offer a satellite clinic locally for children with heart problems. This regional clinic brings patient care closer to home and eliminates the need for these children to travel long distances for check-ups.
Pediatric cardiologists travel from Augusta monthly to provide medical check-ups for children in Valdosta and surrounding counties in South Georgia and North Florida with congenital heart problems and defects.
SGMC provides the office space, clinical support staff and equipment for these visits. The South Health District provides a nurse case manager to facilitate access to other support services and monitor progress.
