Their generosity exceeded all of our expectations, especially in a tight economy.”Over the past few months, the employee giving committee, named Hospital Employees Achieving Resources Together (H.E.A.R.T.), hosted round-the-clock meetings to spread the word about the 3-year campaign. Interested employees were given an opportunity to pledge through payroll deduction a small bi-weekly amount that goes directly to the Foundation for the Stories of Healing campaign. Currently, 32 percent of hospital employees donate to H.E.A.R.T.“This is evidence that nickels make dollars and dollars build buildings,” said Foundation President James Lee Herndon. “Every gift makes a difference, regardless of its size. We are so appreciative of this overwhelming employee support!”For more information on gift giving opportunities, contact the SGMC Foundation at 229.333.1077.
