SGMC Berrien Campus Nurses Receive Excellence Awards

Brooks Heath, LPN, Sarah Kester, RN, and Camaron Clanton, CNA, were honored with excellence awards at SGMC Berrien Campus.SGMC Berrien Campus honored three employees in celebration of Nurse’s Week. SGMC asked nurses and nursing support staff to nominate one registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, and certified nursing assistant for a Nursing Excellence Award. The winners were Sarah Kester, RN, Brooks Heath, LPN, and Camaron Clanton, CNA.Kester works in the emergency department. Her co-workers say that when they see her name on the schedule they know it is going to be a good day. Kester is always willing to help her colleagues and remains calm, even in very stressful situations. Kester is known for being very knowledgeable and respectful of others.  Heath also works in the emergency room and is described as kind and always willing to help out. He loves to learn and enjoys teaching others. Heath stays busy and is a strong asset to the ER.  Everyone loves to work with him, because is is encouraging to his team. Heath has earned a reputation as a true patient advocate. Clanton works in the Medical Surgical Unit, but also enjoys helping and learning in the ER. He exudes positivity which is most notable from his smile. Clanton is known for responding to requests with an eager and willing energy. Nursing, or Patient Care Services as it is commonly called, is a vitally important function in all healthcare organizations. SGMC employs 1,200 employees within the Nursing division and would not be successful without the many contributions of nurses and nursing support staff who deliver hands-on care.
