SGMC Berrien Campus hosts informational lunch and learn on diabetes and cardiovascular disease

February is Heart Health Month and SGMC Berrien Campus is hosting an educational lunch and learn on Thursday, Feb. 16 at noon at the Carrie Dorsey Perry Memorial Library in Nashville to educate the community on the importance of heart health and diabetes management.  Heart disease is the number 1 cause of death in the world and kills almost 380,000 Americans each year. Diabetes and cardiovascular disease often go hand-in-hand, as adults with diabetes are two to four times more likely to develop heart disease or have a stroke than people without diabetes.The event will feature experts Dawn Taylor, Nurse Manager at SGMC Diabetes Management Center and Jana Harrod, Nurse Practitioner with the SGMC CardioVascular Institute. A complimentary lunch will be provided to attendees, but you must register by calling 229-433-1070.
