New Leaders at SGMC

South Georgia Medical Center is pleased to welcome Linda Lawson, RN, MSN, NEA, as its new Assistant Chief Nursing Officer. In this role, Lawson’s primary responsibility will be the management of the inpatient services of SGMC.Lawson joins SGMC from Shands Jacksonville Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida, where she served in multiple nursing leadership roles and as leader of a team instrumental in helping that medical center attain magnet status from the American Nursing Credentialing Center in 2011. Lawson earned her bachelor of nursing degree at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville and her master’s degree from the University of Phoenix. She is certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center as a Nurse Executive, Advanced.SGMC also welcomes Amy Jordan as the Director of Case Management at their main campus. Jordan previously served as Director of Regulatory Compliance at the Smith Northview campus. She has responsibility for SGMC’s utilization review, case management, pre-certification/ continued-stay certification and social services.  Jordan received her bachelor of nursing degree from Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia and is a Certified Case Manager (CCM). She has served in various nursing and administrative roles, including Director of Care Management Services and Director of Quality and Joint Commission, at the Hughston Sports Medicine System in Columbus. She is a member of the Case Management Society of America and the National Association of Healthcare Quality.
