New Administrative Directors Named at SGMC

Milner Named Administrative Director of Medical Imaging Services Kay Milner, RT(R) has been named Administrative Director of Medical Imaging Services for South Georgia Medical Center and its affiliated campuses. Milner most recently served as manager of Medical Imaging Services for the SGMC Smith Northview Campus since December 2012. With more than 35 years of medical imaging leadership experience in both the acute care and outpatient settings, Milner has served as administrator of HCA/CenterOne Imaging Center, Jacksonville, FL; administrator, Delray Open Imaging Center, Delray, FL; director of radiology, Shands at Live Oak, Live Oak, FL; and radiology supervisor/manager of Medical Services (Radiology/Laboratory/Physical Therapy/Anesthesiology/Pharmacy) at Madison County Hospital, Madison, FL. Additionally, she has served as a clinical coordinator for the Radiology Program at Thomas Area Vocational Technical School; Educational Liaison for the State of Georgia Radiography Educators and Advisory Board member for the Basic X-ray Technology Program at Suwannee-Hamilton Vocational/Technical School. At SGMC, Milner plans, directs, and supervises all technical and administrative aspects of Medical Imaging. She is responsible for staff performance in accordance with quality standards and state, local, and federal requirements including preparation of reports, documents, payroll, surveys, operational budgets, and other data required. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Bob, four grown children and four grandchildren. Her hobbies include playing tennis and riding motorcycles. Tomberlin Named Administrative Director of Quality Improvement/Patient Safety  South Georgia Medical Center has named Julie Tomberlin as the Administrative Director of Quality Improvement/Patient Safety. In her new role, Tomberlin will be responsible for collecting and reporting quality data for SGMC, its campuses and affiliates. She will ensure proper management and reporting of infectious disease risks and collaborate with and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and state or regional networks. She will work closely with the Medical Staff and oversee performance improvement projects. Tomberlin is a certified Lean Healthcare Practitioner. A graduate of Valdosta State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in management, Tomberlin formerly worked as the continuing medical education coordinator and project manager for SGMC’s Medical Affairs department. Tomberlin and her husband Jonathan have four children, Madison, Hunter, Rylee and Tyler.
